Morrison Motors (Turriff) Aberdeenshire Shield
In the three matches played tonight the major shock of the shield so far was Turriff Utd beating Peterhead at home 0-1. Turriff Utd went in at the break in front and managed to hold on to their slender lead.
Turriff Utd will now play Inverurie Loco Works in the semi final after "the loco's" were taken to extra time by Aberdeen University. With the match evenly poised at 1 - 1 at the break, Loco's went in front midway through the second half.
Just after they went in front Loco's had Tommy Wilson ordered off for what looked like serious foul play.
The University took full advantage and equalised to take the match into extra time. Inverurie then again went in front only for the University to come back again and make the score line 3 - 3.
With only two minutes to go and penalty kicks looking favourite Loco's regained the lead and saw the match out.
The final score Aberdeen University 3 v 4 Inverurie Loco Works after extra time.
In the remaining match which was the first round tie it finished Buckie Thistle 1 v 2 Huntly.
Huntly will now be at home to Aberdeen in the quarter final.
